River Navigators 1-Day Course

Build confidence recognising river hazards, assessing conditions, and making safer decisions around moving water during this practical day of river safety skills.

Bush Navigators 1-Day Course

Build confidence reading maps, understanding terrain, and navigating in the bush during this practical day of hands-on navigation and bush safety skills.

Avalanche Skills Course 1 (ASC1)

Already have your basic intro to mountaineering skills? Learn essential decision-making skills heading into the back-country or side-country. This is a foot-based course with transferrable skills for ski-touring, mountaineering and winter tramping.

Intro to Outdoor Rock Climbing

Never climbed? Done a bit of indoor climbing/bouldering before? Can’t remember much about belaying since you did it at school camp? This course is for you. Learn the basics about belaying, top-roping, and have a bit of fun working on your climbing technique!

Instructor Training

We have a highly skilled staff team and can teach instructor training for those looking to further their instructing career. It is generally best and more cost effective to organise as a group.

Women’s Adventure Race Training

Perfect for Spring Challenge competitors, we spend day 1 orienteering and day 2 doing water-based training.

Intro to Mountaineering

Keen to go further and climb higher? Learn the key skills to move on snow and in the mountains above the bush line in winter conditions! A pre-requisite for the Avalanche Awareness course.

Te Araroa Ready 2-Day Backcountry Skills Intensive

Prepare for Te Araroa and long-distance tramping with two practical days of navigation, river awareness, and backcountry travel skills.

Grade 2 Kayak Certificate Course

River Safety and Rescue Training

We believe everyone should be equipped with basic river safety skills. Learn, upskill or get qualified to teach river safety and rescue. River rescue and safety training offered at different levels to suit students, workplaces, instructors.

We are registered as an Adventure Activity Operator (AAO) with WorkSafe NZ. The Health and Safety at Work (Adventure Activities) Regulations 2016 established a safety audit and registration process. The regulations aim to enhance professionalism and ensure consistent good practices across the sector.
